The U.S. Surgeon General declared firearm violence a public health crisis!

December 14 marks the 12th anniversary of the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.   Sadly, little has been done on gun reform by elected officials in

Congress. We know that too many lives are stolen by gun violence.  Act now and write our elected officials about reducing gun violence.

The Sandy Hook Promise has a mission to educate and empower youth and adults to PREVENT violence in schools, homes, and communities,  A team of volunteers has contacted all Williamson County School Districts about the Sandy Hook Promise mission and programs that can be provided to the schools at NO COST.  In addition, the team met with elected officials’ representatives in August.   But, we need to do more.

Please email and/or call elected officials and advocate for gun

violence prevention. If not you, then who? If not now, then when?

Tell them you demand the banning of new sales of assault style weapons and high-capacity magazines (magazines holding more than 10 rounds). We are not asking that any weapons be taken from lawful gun owners.  Encourage changing the age limit from 18 to age 21 to purchase a rifle.

To reduce suicide attempts, urge our officials to institute a safe storage system for our U. S. Veterans.
