Sacred Currents: Earth-Centered Gatherings
San Gabriel is the name of this Fellowship, the river that runs through Georgetown, and the river valley many of us call home. This valley is also the ancestral homeland of the Tonkawa people, who called it Takachue Pouetsu: "the land of good water." Sacred Currents, our reimagined earth-centered gatherings, takes its name in honor of that living heritage, strengthening our connection to the river, the land, one another, and ourselves. Join us on Wednesday evenings beginning

Lovely Day — Reclaiming Faith as a Present-Tense Practice, with Bill Withers and Ross Gay by Eric Hepburn
As Bill Withers sings, "Then I look at you, and the world's alright with me. Just one look at you, and I know it's gonna be: A lovely day!" Think of this as a love letter to the congregation and to all those who gather in joy and in sorrow to work toward the beloved community that signals a lovely day for all. We will have our Annual Congregational Meeting after service.

Flourishing Together: Flower Communion, Norbert Čapek, and Robin Wall Kimmerer on Mutual Flourishing & Flower Communion by Eric Hepburn
The Great World House segment recounts the origin: in 1923, Norbert Čapek, founder of the modern Unitarian church in Czechoslovakia, asked each congregant to bring a single flower. Placed together in one vase, blessed, and exchanged — each person carrying home a flower someone else brought — the ceremony offered his largely ex-Catholic congregation a communion rooted not in bread and wine but in nature herself: receive the gift, cherish the gift, pass the gift on. Spring in Full Motion in the RE area!
Spring is in full motion in the children's area right now. Habitat and RE have put in some plants, and nature has bountifully filled in the open space beside the raised beds. These are Texas native wildflowers as well as herbs we use at home. These are plants that the children, with guidance from RE adults, can touch and smell, and learn to observe the life that may come to them. The first "common sunflower" is blooming, next to the thriving pot of mint that the RE kids plan

When The Light Of Truth Burns All Else Away by Eric Hepburn and Kelly McGinty
We say it every week: “When the light of truth burns all else away.” This Sunday, we pause to listen more closely to what that might mean. Among us are people who call themselves religious, spiritual, both, or neither; and many who aren’t sure where they belong. Together we’ll explore what these words reveal, what they obscure, and what might remain when the fire has done its work. This service makes room for insight, ritual, rhythm, and release; and invites each of us to lis

Sticks and Stones by Eric Hepburn
You remember the children's rhyme, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." Sometimes this landed as good and helpful advice, not to take on the harm that others wanted to inflict on us with their words. Other times, it just feels deeply untrue. For many of us some of the most painful hurts we've ever received have been delivered mostly through words. So, we'll spend some time with this worthy paradox - and hopefully leave with a deepened sense of
