❄️CHURCH CLOSED - Warming Center Activation Friday Evening-Tuesday Morning❄️

Friday 01/23/2026 6:00 pm - Tuesday 01/27/2026 9:00 am

We will do our best to accommodate everyone in need-

because everyone deserves warmth and safety.

The Warming Center will be located at Getsemani Community Center

at 412 E 19th Street 78626.

Pets are welcome. Animals must remain in a closed crate while indoors, and owners are responsible for their care. Crates, food, and sanitary bags will be available if needed.

If you’d like to help out, we have several needs to fill, including volunteers who can serve as monitors during the day and those who can help with overnight supervision shifts and supplies - sign ups and details below.

We are so thankful for a community that comes together to help us care for our neighbors.

This is the big post with all of the logistical and volunteer details. Individual posts will go up each time we activate with details with dates and times.

Until further notice, thanks to the generosity of First United Methodist Church, the Warming Center will be located at Getsemani Community Center at 412 E 19th Street.

We will do our best to accommodate everyone because everyone deserves a safe, warm place to sleep in this weather.

Pets are welcome. Animals must remain in a closed crate while indoors, and owners are responsible for their care. Crates, food, and sanitary bags will be available if needed. Shout out to Furrbaby Food Pantry for providing pet food, leashes, and bags!

If you’d like to help out, we have several needs to fill for each day we activate, including people to drive folks from the Georgetown Public Library to the Getsemani Community Center, folks to help with check in, and people willing to stay overnight.

Please sign up here Pointapp.org/orgs/7032 .

It takes a community to make this happen, and we appreciate everyone who helps!

We also need meals for breakfast and dinner each day of activation for about 30, so if you have a group or church that’s willing to help with food, please message us or text 512-688-3595.

Additional support is welcome. Current needs include hygiene items, pillows, warm blankets, chapstick, hand warmers, warm men’s clothing, towels, meals (breakfast & dinner), and hot chocolate, disinfecting wipes, as well as aerosol sanitizing spray, laundry detergent, and Odoban to sanitize bedding after use.

Items can be dropped off at the office during office hours, left in the blue barrels out front, or even sent Amazon to the office address! (Helping Hands of Georgetown, 1100 Thousand Oaks Blvd, Georgetown, TX 78628).

We are deeply grateful for the compassion and generosity of our community and partners. Thank you to Georgetown Beard Club for always helping out, and Michelle Augustine for your time and support.

Help us care for our neighbors during these cold winter nights .
