Live Poetry to Honor Nature

On August 8, 2021, we are excited to present a live Zoom service of poetry that honors Nature.  We invite you to bring your own poetry or words from a poet you love.  All forms and styles are welcome.  Any poem that honors nature is acceptable.

We all have a connection to Nature.  Our 7th Principle states “Respect for the independent web of existence of which we are a part.”  How do you relate to nature?  Is it part of your spiritual practice, such as Mother Earth of pagan and Native American cosmologies?  Do you sense a wise teacher, or a power greater than yourself in nature?  Do you have a strong appreciation and love for the natural world?  This is a broad theme and can be interpreted in many ways, so be creative!

We would like to include at least one poem from as many voices as possible.  Please send your selection to us by July 25 so we can create an order for the poems in the service.  Let us know if you would like to read it yourself or have one of the facilitators read it for you.

Facilitators are Mary Abbey, past.president@sangabrieluu.org
and Susan J. Rogers, choir@sangabrieluu.org

We look forward to hearing from you!
