Reviving Great Expectations

On this day Rev. Lou Snead will be addressing the topic -”Reviving Great Expectations” as a reflection on our nation’s annual celebration of Labor Day. Rev. Snead will suggest that, despite the enormous advances in technologies and standards of living over the past two centuries, not much has changed since the time when Charles Dickens wrote his classic 19th century novel, Great Expectations, depicting the human drama that grows out of wealth disparities, greed, and envy. The focus of his sermon will be to ask about our current day expectations to restore the common good in America and what commitments are needed to create public policies and individual actions that will lead to greater economic justice and prosperity for all.
