HIRING: Religious Exploration (RE) Guide – Part-Time

San Gabriel UU Fellowship is seeking a warm, grounded Religious Exploration (RE) Guide to work with our elementary-age children on Sunday mornings. This role is for someone who loves kids, understands neurodivergence, and believes that relationship, agency, and trust matter more than compliance or control.

Our RE program focuses on teaching life-giving practices — emotional regulation, empathy, cooperation, and spiritual curiosity — while drawing from Unitarian Universalism, science, earth-based traditions, indigenous wisdom, and inclusive, post-colonial approaches to world religions. We are especially interested in candidates who approach learning through a nervous-system-aware, autonomy-supportive lens and who can be a consistent, safe presence for children with diverse needs and learning styles.

This is a paid, part-time position (up to 5 hours/week, Sundays in person) from February–June 2026, with strong potential for continuation as our growing congregation invests in its RE ministry. Hourly pay ranges from $25–$30, depending on experience.
