SGUUF Facilities Improvement Begins Thanks to our congregation's generous support of our Legacy Capital Campaign, the roofing contractor will begin replacing the roofs on the Fellowship House and Little House Saturday 1-17-26.  The Facilities Team received the best bid from 1st Choice Roofing and Construction Company in Georgetown to remove the old shingles and install the highest-grade architectural shingles on both of the two houses.    Beginning Monday 1-19-26 the roofing

Could it be that one of the most effective ways to subvert a prophet is to turn them into an idol? There is a case to be made that this is what "the church" has done to Jesus. As part of the nationwide No Kings protests scheduled for this Saturday, October 18th, there are now  several scheduled for our area . Here are the protests that are the closest geographically to San Gabriel Unitarian Universalist Church: Round Rock  -  on the sidewalks at Koughan Memorial Water Park Tower from 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Hosting this group is in alignment with the values that our church holds close, and by providing them this space and opportunity we are providing the direct support that is sometimes lacking when we attempt to help those in need. How will we answer that question?   Those of us who have found a spiritual home in this UU Fellowship certainly hope so.  The pioneers who took the bold step to purchase our SGUUF facilities in 2013 planned for it to be here into perpetuity.  A host of committed and generous members and friends of our Fellowship over the past dozen years have invested in the continued presence of our UU church in Georgetown as we preserved through a pandemic and difficult leadership changes. 

On Sunday, October 5 th , our congregation will be invited to join the Board of SGUUF and two dozen advanced donors in supporting a capital campaign aimed at keeping our UU presence in Georgetown for years to come.  This campaign is designed to build upon the legacy of the 53 members who raised $175,000 in 2013 to purchase our current church facilities.  The goal of this Legacy Fund Campaign is to secure financial commitments of $180,000 from our members and friends over the
